Local Attractions • City Walls Walk (less than 1km)- You can almost walk the circumference of the old city on its ancient walls except for two places. Turn right outside the hotel and walk to the city wall that can be accessed at Micklegate.
• Yorvik Viking Centre (1 km)- Internationally renowned for its moving journey from Viking times to present day complete with smells & sounds of old York.
Bridge St, over river, onto Coppergate, access from entrance in Coppergate Shopping centre.
• York Dungeon (1 km)- Not for the faint hearted..A chilling collection of murderers and the unexplained.
Bridge Street, over river, Clifford St before you reach Clifford's Tower.
• York City Art Gallery (1 km)- The collection spans 7 centuries of painting in Western Europe. Also temporary exhibitions.

From the South using the M1: Join A64 signed Tadcaster and York. Then join A1036 following signs to City centre which becomes Blossom Street outside the old city walls. Pass through the old Micklegate arch onto Micklegate where the hotel is located on the left hand side, pass the hotel and turn left into North Street. Halfway up on the left hand side is access to a drop off point and the hotel entrance. Press Hotel Reception intercom to raise barrier.
From the North using the A1: leave at junction 47 joining the A59. Continue on the A59 into the city centre. This will bring you onto Blossom Street A1036 which leads on through the old Micklegate arch onto Micklegate. The hotel is located on the left hand side. Pass the hotel and turn left into North Street. Halfway along the left hand side is access to a drop off point and the hotel entrance.
From the West using the M62: merge at junction 29 with the M1. Continue on the M1 until junction 48 merging with the A1M. Leave the A1M at junction 45. Join the A64 signed Tadcaster and York.
